WARREN COUNTY TOWNSHIP ASSOCIATION

$1,500.00 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility

The Warren County Township Association presents a One Thousand Five Hundred Dollar ($1,500.00) Annual Scholarship to students who meet the following criteria:

Student must be a U.S. citizen; must reside at an address that votes for Township Trustees in Warren County, must be a current high school student or vocational student graduating in the Spring of 2023; and must plan to attend a two or four-year Ohio trade school or Ohio college or university in the fall of 2023.

To be eligible for the Warren County Township Association (WCTA) Scholarship, the student must have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and attain a minimum 22 ACT and/or 1000 SAT score (exceptions available for those applying to trade schools). Applicants must be able to demonstrate outstanding citizenship through service and participation in community activities. Immediate family members of Township Trustees or Fiscal Officers are not eligible.

Requirements

 Completed application form.

 Statement of activities, honors and leadership, including school and community activities, and years participated. Identify leadership positions or awards received.

 A copy of your high school transcript.

 Two letters of recommendation (personal or professional).

 A 500-750 word essay on the importance of township government in Ohio, detailing:

     1. How a township has impacted you or your life, and

     2. What you learned from attending the township meeting.

The applicant MUST attend at least one township meeting BEFORE turning in the application.

Please note the application is not complete without two signatures from elected officials present at the meeting. The applicant may attend any of the eleven townships, including: Clearcreek, Deerfield, Franklin, Hamilton, Harlan, Massie, Salem, Turtlecreek, Union, Washington, or Wayne Township. 

Deadline

Completed application must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, February 24, 2023. Finalists will be notified by the end of March and may be asked to take part in an interview. Winner will be notified after May 1st. Recipient must provide proof of college or university acceptance prior to receipt of award.
